Our hiking club went to Moab Utah to see the sights. The first two days had good weather but the last three had periods of rain that affected where we could hike
First hike was in Arches NP, Devils Garden primitive loop hike. About 8 miles and 1000 ft gain.
First arch is Landscape arch.
After landscape arch the trail scrambles up a fin heading to Navajo arch.
The next day's hike was to the Great Gallery in a remote section of Canyonlands national park
The start of the hike goes down 750 feet on an old road. Then follows the wash to the pictograph sites.
The next day rained so we tried driving around to the various roadside pictographs
Courthouse wash pictographs
Poison spider dinosaur tracks
It turned out to be too much rain so we went back to the hotel to wait it out. Later that afternoon we went to arches to see what we could see.
We then did a short hike out of the devils garden to Tapestry arch and broken arch. This is Tapestry arch
This is the parking lot for sand dune arch. It is inside these fins. The temp then was about 40 degrees with 40 mph winds too. We didn't stay long.
Another morning we did Delicate arch and passed Wolfe ranch with it's two cabins and petroglyphs.
Normal crowds on the Delicate arch trail for march. It gets crowded in April and parking spaces are hard to get.
Corona arch was another day. This it the RR track near the parking lot down Potash road.
We made the side trip to Pinto arch.
