Our hiking group went to Kanab for 3 days of hiking.
On the way we stopped by Matt's off-road recovery for a tour.
The next stop was a petroglyph panel in Apple valley. We took a good dirt road for 5.5 miles and a not good dirt road for 0.5 more miles to a point of a cliff. the petroglyphs are below the point
This is the way down about 100 yards to the right of where the petroglyphs are.
After you get down there is a flat track to the left to where the petroglyphs are visible.
They are unique because they have weathered out to create a relief.
There are 3 panels side by side.
On tuesday we hiked Edmaiers secret. There is a lot of interesting sandstone formations. With no trails at all. It was a 9 mile hike.

A section of the trail to the Wave that is visible from West Clark Bench. This would be near the Twin Buttes marker.
Arch rock on West Clark Bench from the side view that doesnt show the window.
There are many areas of thin fins that jut up out of the rock.
Little leaf Mountain Mahogany
On the next day we went to White valley between Kanab and Page. It is a 7 mile hike for an out and back
This is the start of the trail. It goes straight towards the rock face in the center right and then turns right into a branch you can't see from here.At the end of that branch there is this giant hoodoo and another called Zebra hoodoo. See the person for scale.
Returning from the branch canyon there is a left fork that leads up over a plateau into a separate drainage.
As you round the bend into the side drainage that leads over to the next canyon (white canyon) there are these hoodoos
And these
After going up and over you reach the head of white canyon. The route we wer following goes cross here and turns down canyon to the right but stays on the edge instead of entering the bottom of the canyon.
This slope would lead to the bottom of the canyon but we didn't continue any further.
This is knopwn as Twisted Hoodoo. We turned around there for an out and back.
