Edmaier's secret.

Edmaier's  secret is about 30 miles east of Kanab UT and down House Rock Valley road to the Buckskin gultch trailhead. There is a $6.00 fee per person payable at the trailhead.

As you leave the car follow the wash east and then south. It is about 2 miles to the rock teepees you see here, on the left of the wash. This is where you would head up onto the ridge on the left which is your destination.

This is looking back along the wash valley you just hiked from up on the ridge.

That big sandy area is a side wash that marks where you head up hill.

This large outcrop is before you get to the sandy side wash going up to the big dome. It is up a sand dune just past a rock that is on the southernmost part of the trail section that goes straight along a straight barbed wire fence section.

View of the ramp to the top middle. It is a steep scramble.

looking back toward the big dome.

between the big dome, along the brain rock bench there are areas similar to the Wave.

Sausage leaf flame flower.

This is also up the sand dune after the straight section of barbed wire fence.

Spider wort

Earlier on the trail after leaving the car and just after the trail passed through a big red rock narrows take the path that goes up onto the right side bench. About 300 ft later on the right are these petroglyphs visible from the trail, but not visible if you walk right up the rocks.

This is the sandy side wash leading toward the ridge seen below.

We scrambled up onto the ridge right here.

We also climbed the large dome by the ridge to see what was up there. There was a view south and some lace rock (fins).

This is the view south from the dome. You can see a brain rock bench leading to a light gray ramp that is a way to the top of the ridge. We didn't get that far. It also seems that you could gain the top of the ridge most any place along the way.

Some fins on top of the dome.

More on top of the dome.

 Brenda for a size perspective.

Again, looking south toward the ramp to the top.

After coming off the dome we headed east and south behind the dome to the slopes where there are better fins than on the top of the dome.

Saw my first Desert Spiny lizard.

Lase rock on the slops of the ridge.

Looking back down the slope we came up that is behind the large dome.

Strange rock formation, Potato chip rock, or dish network rock?

The back side of the big dome.
