Valley of Fire, 3 day hikes

First day hike was from the Duck Rock road west to reach the Delicate Formation for a better photo. This formation is near the top of  a ridge and requires a telephoto lens to get close.

Turpentine Broom was still blooming but not much else was out.

The second day we went over to find the Sitting Elephant rock on the east side of the park. You can see we found it.

 Saw one Desert Chicory blooming

 California Shieldpod

 Silver Cholla

 Sagebrush Checkerspot

A new tank we found in the wash leading from Baseline Mesa toward the sitting elephant.

We went back to this tank after the 2020 drought to find it dry, and that there were other petroglyphs that we didn't see because the water distracted us.

Also some new Petroglyphs we haven't seen, or heard about before.

Couple of water pockets in the same wash before we left it to angle up to the Sitting Elephant on the way back. The many rock formations that look like elephants clearly prove that NV is the true location of the fabled Elephant Graveyard.

 White wooly daisy

Virgin Peak framed in an arch at the pass between Sitting Elephant and the Fee station on the east side.
 Desert Horned Lizard

 Cactus Wren in the campground.

We visited crazy hill on the third day and hiked around the area to see what else there was there.

Desert Almond bush blooming in the wash.

All the following photos were around the crazy hill area.

This is looking into the wash that leads to the tall slot on the White Dome loop.

Interesting hard conglomerate rock
