On the way to Hanksville we passed through Capital Reef to see these petroglyphs on the side of the road.
After Capital reef we passed through an area of badlands where there is a short track going toward Long Dong Silver, an impressive spire in the middle of no where. The blm there is trying to keep it from becoming growing off road area. They have a place to park for the hike but the rroad has bypassed it. If too many people keep driving right up the the spire it will ruin it for everyone.
It is only a one mile hike to the spire from here. You could see it from the road if not for a cliff in the way.
With people in it for size.
South of Hanksville, on the way to Hite is Hog Canyon picnic area. The Moki Queen is located in a big alcove by the road just south of the picnic parking. Just walk down the road and cross over to the alcove to see it.
