Costa Rica

We took a birding trip to Costa Rica with Costa Rica Focus, a travel company for birders. We went to the Arenal Observatory lodge, Monteverde cloud forest and a place near, but not on the coast.

From the airport in San Jose we met our driver who took us to the Arenal Observatory lodge near La Fortuna and the volcano there. The second leg of the trip went from there around to Monteverde cloud forest and from there to a lodge near the coast.

The Restaurant at Avenal Observatory lodge. It overlooks the deck where they feed the birds.

One of the trails around the lodge.

The garden by the restaurant between our room and the restaurant.

The volcano is right off the deck but was always hidden by clouds
