Butler wash ruins. Most of the ruin overlooks put you on the far side of a canyon from the ruin.....a telephoto lens is very helpful.

House on fire ruin..About a 2 mile RT hike. The plan to get the standard photo you can see online is to arrive in the morning before sun strikes directly. When you do, the rock look gray to your eyes.

But is you step closer and use a wide angle lens, the shadowed area plays a trick on the white balance of your camera and it comes out  orange. I did not change the color or saturation on this photo.

Playing with exposure, the lighter you make it the more orange it gets. My cell phone couldn't see it the same way.
