Delaware Punch Loop



Photos of things seen on this hike at the beginning of flower season. Hike started at the Prospect trail parking lot and went north for about 1 mile till we could turn left and make it to the top of the limestone ridge. We followed that ridge north to the high point and then descended back to Prospect trail through a red rock canyon. About 6.5 miles and 1500 ft of gain.

At the north end of the limestone ridge we descended toward the Prospect trail.




Horned lizard

On the way we saw two Horned Lizards. I got a photo of this one. and the following close up.

This is the last leg of the ridge before the high point where we had lunch before heading back.

Alone the ridge were several fossils.

We observed a helicopter landing on the highpoint while having lunch

Looking across from the lunch stop we could see another hiking group at Top of the World arch.

The canyon descending had several dry falls. This was the way around the highest one
